Technology Support Specialist
Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Proven working experience in the above fields including installing, configuring and troubleshooting Network Switches, Firewall, Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing, security, and WAN based protocols.
Evidence of experience in the administration of Microsoft Windows servers, desktops and applications. Apple and Linux experience a plus.
Experience in Cloud computing including but not limited to Google for Education, Office 365, AWS, Azure, and other cloud based solutions.
Evidence of experience with VMWare virtualization and SQL Server/databases.
Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for computers, equipment, networks and services that enhance educational programs and administrative functions within the school districts, Schuylkill Technology Center and Schuylkill Intermediate Unit.
Ability to manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure including RWAN, PAIUnet, IU, STC, and all IU supported buildings
Oversight of infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining network hardware, operating systems, application software and system management tools.
Ability to see potential issues and proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure accessibility.
Monitor and test performance of applications, foreseeing potential bottlenecks and identifying possible solutions.
Continual maintenance of security, including backup and redundancy strategies.
Desire to work alongside the team to help design information and operational support systems.
Excellence in communication as a liaison with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve issues.
Deliver, unpack, configure, install and maintain desktop, notebook and handheld, computer equipment, peripheral equipment, networked devices, servers and videoconferencing equipment.
