Director of Pupil Services (

Applications are now being accepted for a Director of Pupil Services position. This is a full-time administrative position that includes employee benefits.
 
The Director of Pupil Services will work with administration, staff and parents to ensure that students are provided with appropriate and comprehensive pupil services and special education program and services; and that all programs and procedures comply with federal and state statutes and regulations and Board policies and procedures both at the district and school levels. Department responsibilities include services provided to students in all district buildings, non-public schools, hospitalization programs and other outside agencies. Programs include health services, counseling, gifted education services, ESL services, home/school visitor services, Section 504 services, homebound services and Student Assistance programs. Other responsibilities include, nursing, psychological services, special education programs, Child Accounting, and Central Registration.
 
Knowledge and Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, parents, students, and the public. Should possess skills to develop and prepare effective written communication. Must be knowledgeable of curriculum standards: must be able to work effectively with other administrators and governmental agencies, private associations, parents and citizen groups; manage human relationships; effectively develop and manage budgets; effectively present oral and written reports. 
 
Abilities:
Ability to manage the Pupil Services department with varied changing demands. Exercise good judgement in prioritizing tasks and directing staff. Planning, organizing and directing others. Utilize computer software programs and hardware pertinent to areas of responsibility. Work independently with little direction and as a team. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
 
Education and Experience:
Experience as a Director of Pupil/Student Services preferred. Must have an advanced degree from an accredited college or university. Must hold a valid Pennsylvania certificate for one of the following: Supervisor of Pupil Services; Superintendent; Assistant Superintendent; Principal. Must possess experience in administration and supervision. Knowledge of federal and state special education regulations with five (5) years of experience in any one or combination of the above areas; strong interpersonal, supervisory, leadership and organizational skills.
