Elementary School Principal

Elementary School Principal  This position is a permanent full-time ten (10) month (206 days) position available beginning August 2021.  
 
Crawford Central School District, located in Meadville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania is seeking an inspiring, visionary leader able to encourage excellence in all aspects of an elementary educational program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. A Master’s Degree with a major in Educational Administration
  2. A valid Pennsylvania Certificate to practice as an Elementary School Principal
  3. Previous principal experience preferred but not required or at least five year's successful experience as a classroom teacher.
  4. To have knowledge of computers and their educational applications.
  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  
REPORTS TO:   Superintendent and Director of Curriculum
 
SUPERVISES:    
  1. Professional Staff
  2. Paraprofessional Staff
  3. Non-Professional Staff
  4. Other resource and service personnel while functioning in the assigned school        
 
JOB GOAL: Provide leadership, supervision, and coordination of the total educational program within the school. 
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  1. Supervises and facilitates the total instructional program of the school. 
  2. Promotes students, staff and parent participation in school activities. 
  3. Provides leadership in developing and maintaining an environment conducive to effective educational services to students. 
  4. Interprets and implements Board policies and administrative regulations. 
  5. Possesses knowledge of current professional and non-professional contracts and agreements. 
  6. Participates in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of the school staff. 
  7. Provides leadership in case of school crisis. 
  8. Supervises the special education program in the building. 
  9. Coordinates the development of the master schedule. 
  10. Fosters positive public relations. 
  11. Prepares or supervises the preparation of reports, records, lists, and all other paper work required or appropriate to the school's administration. 
  12. Assumes responsibility for health, safety, and welfare of students, staff, including the planning for such emergencies as fire or storms and the training of the students in the procedures to be followed during such events. 
  13. Conducts meetings of the staff as necessary for the proper functioning of the school. 
  14. Prepares and administers the school budget. 
  15. Establishes procedures for the security of all school facilities, property, and equipment. 
  16. Keeps current with changes in education by attending professional meetings, and reading professional journals and other publications. 
  17. Monitors and participates in the implementation of the district curriculum and evaluates existing programs. 
  18. Advises central office on activities and problems in the school. 
  19. Such other reasonable duties as are assigned by the School Board or Superintendent. 
    
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits to be determined in accordance with the Administrative Compensation Plan established between the Act 93 Group and the Crawford Central Board of School Directors 
 
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
