Recreational and Power Equipment Technology Instructor

Berks Career & Technology Center is looking for a permanent full-time (10-month/year) Instructor for our Recreational and Power Equipment Technology program at our Leesport (West Campus) location to start at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.
 
This position will prepare secondary career and technical students to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, maintain and diagnose problems on a variety of small internal-combustion gasoline engines and related systems used on portable power equipment such as lawn and garden equipment, chain saws, outboard motors, rototillers, snowmobiles, lawn mowers, motorcycles, personal watercraft and pumps and generators.
 
The selected candidate must possess the following PDE certificate: Technologies/Technicians, Other, CIP Code: 47.0699 (Career and Technical/Instruction 2600 or Small Engine Repair 2067) or have the following qualifications to obtain the required certificate:
 
Five plus years of recent full-time wage-earning work experience beyond the training period in the area of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, and drives. EETC certification in 2- and 4- cycle gas engines a plus. Must complete PDE required course work and certification process, if not already certified. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage and motivate high school students.
