Assistant Director of Physical Plant

Assist the Director of Physical Plant in overseeing the operation of all school facilities and grounds including the planning and implementation of maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, and cleaning; capital facility planning; and, the management of construction projects.  This will include:

  • Recruitment, training, assignment, and supervision of physical plant staff.
  • Management and review of renovation and construction projects and utility/energy related concerns including field over-site;
  • Assist in the management of the asbestos program under AHERA regulations.
  • Compliance of facility related laws, codes, and environmental regulations.
  • Preparation of technical specifications for a variety of bids and projects.
  • General administrative duties such as budgeting, payroll, and approval of purchases.
  • Security and safety related issues by serving on the Health and Safety Monitoring Committee and writing, revising, and implementing the Emergency Operations Plan.
  • Oversight of district environmental issues and maintenance of proper records.
  • Development and monitoring of files for all buildings including construction documents, plans, specifications, contract bids, and other pertinent information.
  • Maintaining communication with a variety of committees, community groups, and outside agencies, during and after working hours.
  • Coordination of the use of all district facilities with outside groups.
