Director of Physical Plant

The State College Area School District seeks a dynamic, energetic leader who is mission driven and has a record of proven results and responsibilities to serve as our Director of Physical Plant. This full-time, twelve-month administrative position reports to the Finance and Operations Officer and is charged with overseeing the operation and maintenance of all school facilities and grounds; leading capital facility planning, including the management of subsequent construction projects; and, overseeing the procurement of district-wide supplies. In addition, the Director is responsible for providing leadership and recommendations to senior administration on the development of district long-range strategic plans; the assessment and evaluation of current and future facilities infrastructure; developing, communicating and maintaining a long-term vision and plan for facilities; analyzing operational methods and procedures and recommending to senior administration the most efficient and effective systems; and, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal laws.

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred. Analytical, organizational, collaborative, and coaching skills are critical to success in this position. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a proven ability to build relationships, and strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
