Data Systems Coordinator @ Upper Moreland Township School District

Job Description
Position: Data Systems Coordinator
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Director of Technology 
FLSA Status: Exempt 
 
SUMMARY:
The Data Systems Coordinator works as a member of the Information Technology department and is responsible for management of District data systems to facilitate educational and operational needs. This position will use judgment in prioritization of work tasks and in application of methods and processing functions, review operational processes to enhance data quality and system accuracy, integrity and security. This position will work to support and implement cross departmental system implementations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
Other duties may be assigned 
-Establish, design, and implement data systems, reports, and queries. Provide support to coordinate and confirm the accuracy and validity of information.
-Assists district Integrated Instructional Systems Specialist in supporting PowerSchool SIS to internal and external users. 
-Works with District Departments to manage and support operational platforms such as Frontline Education modules and Powerschool eFinanceplus.
-Coordinate data transfer between systems and the District data warehouse system, Linkit.
-Act as the main technical resource for implementations of new data systems and improvements or changes to existing systems.
-Maintains procedural knowledge of state and federal guidelines for data reporting as well as technical knowledge of the systems used.
-Assists district Integrated Instructional Systems Specialist with PIMS data collections and submissions.
-Provide support to facilitate and meet District information and data reporting needs.
-Facilitate end user technical and data systems training as needed.
-Provide cross training or knowledge sharing as required to ensure system function redundancy exists.
-Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the systems.
-Maintain system end-user documentation and business rules.
-Maintain current knowledge and a base understanding of new technologies.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  
-Working knowledge of collaborative productivity tools.
-Working knowledge of HR, Operational, and Student systems
-Understanding of best practice instructional practices supported by technology.
-Skilled in being trained and turning that training around for other staff as needed.
-Understanding of Employee and Student Data Systems.
-Good communication skills both written and oral and documented
-Self-motivated problem solver able to work in groups or independently.  
-Current driver’s license required.
 
Education and Experience:
-Bachelor's Degree in a technology discipline or minimum of three years comparative experience.
