School Social Worker @ Westmoreland Intermediate Unit
The Westmoreland Intermediate Unit is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School Social Worker. Please note that this position is needed through September 2022, however it has the potential to be extended to a permanent position beyond this date.
The School Social Worker provides comprehensive school social work services to students, parents, and school staff, addressing barriers that limit students from receiving full benefit from their school experience. The School Social Worker helps identified students by providing direct services and by assisting families in accessing appropriate community resources. In addition, the School Social Worker will assist students in developing interventions to promote academic, behavioral, and social success. The School Social Worker will also collaborate with school staff to implement and monitor interventions within the classroom setting.
Minimum Education: MA/MS in Social Work. Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania to provide mental health services (LSW/LCSW, etc.)
Minimum Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in an educational environment is preferred. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks. Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and school staff.
