Qualifications:    

  1. Five (5) years’ experience in technology necessary including knowledge of computer hardware, software and network trouble shooting.
  2. Prefer experience in managing/supervising employees.
  3. Strong team player with the ability to work with faculty, staff, and Administration.
  4. Self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to work with said technical employees.
  5. Skills and knowledge to be able to troubleshoot and repair computer system and related equipment.
  6. Must be experience but not limited to programs such as Word 2013, PowerPoint, Excel, Windows operating systems XP/Windows 7 & 8, and Windows Server 2008R2 & 2012.
  7. Must have knowledge of running network wires and terminating such wires.
  8. The ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  9. Must be able to utilize ladders and other lifting devices on a regular basis.
  10. Must be well versed in network design and implementation, including but not limited to, Active Director, SAMBA, DNS, DHCP, corporate e-mail, Wi-Fi, etc.
  11. Must be willing to further education through professional development.
  12. Must be well versed in Hyper-V Virtualization, including High-availability clustering.
  13. Must have a working knowledge of Network Attached Storage (SAN) Systems.
  14. Must be able to work irregular hours.
    Reports to:      Administrative Director and/or Principal
    Job goal:         To assist in the coordination, implementation and maintenance of the most appropriate technology network, security, hardware, software, services, and training necessary to positively impact the learning process for district students and instructional delivery by school personnel.
    Performance duties and responsibilities:
  15. Work closely with school administrators in developing and implementing a technology plan/program and technology related activities.
  16. Maintain on a rotational basis all training area and academic classroom computers.
  17. Plan for the replacement of computers reaching end-of-life each year, oversee deployment and inventory of new equipment.
  18. Submit e-rate documents for Internet and data transport: keep informed on issues pertaining to e-rate.
  19. Supervise all Technology Department employees, building technology teams and media services.
  20. Daily administration and maintenance of computer labs.
  21. Update, administer, and maintain all office computers.
  22. Daily administration, updating, and maintaining, of school-wide network servers and related equipment, including hubs, switches, and routers.
  23. Assist in the distribution and collection of school audiovisual equipment and computer hardware.
  24. Assist staff and faculty in the use of computers and software applications and developing in-service education and training to utilize technology more effectively.
  25. Maintain adequate supplies of hardware and consumables for the school’s computers, related equipment, and audiovisual equipment.
  26. Assist in the interviewing and recommending, technical personnel for hiring.
  27. Assist in the evaluation and termination of all technical employees.
  28. Responsible for the scheduling of all technical employees workloads and will assist technical employees in completion of tasks as needed.
  29. Update, administer, and maintain all network software, programs, configurations, and hardware.
  30. Update and maintain school inventory of all technology equipment.
  31. Administer, update, and maintain the school-wide Ethernet network.
  32. Run and terminate network (CAT5e/CAT6), TV (RG-6), and CCTV (RG-59, RG-6) cabling.
  33. Troubleshoot and repair computers and computer systems and technology devices.
  34. Assist in yearly maintenance and replacement of the school’s computers and technology devices.
  35. Serve as a member of the Technology Committee.
  36. Advise new and updated software and technology to the JOC.
  37. Serve as Liaison between the Vocational School and other instructional technology related consortiums.
  38. Participate in career training programs as assigned.
  39. Coordinate with the Business Manager the budgeting, ordering, and installing of the district’s software, hardware, and other technology related equipment and supplies.
  40. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior with work habits that meet or exceed common standards.
  41. Perform such other job related duties as assigned by the Administrative Director.

 
Terms of employment:   Twelve (12) month year.  Salary to be determined by the Joint Operating Committee.
 
Selection:                     Appointment shall be by the Joint Operating Committee following the recommendation of the Administrative Director.
 
Evaluation:                 Performance to be evaluated annually by the Director or her/his designee.
