Executive Director

The Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29, located in Mar Lin, PA, is re-opening its search for a proven

leader to serve as Executive Director. The Executive Director provides overall leadership to the Schuylkill IU (214 employees & $32.4 million budget) and the Schuylkill Technology Center (88 employees & $9.8 million budget). Schuylkill IU 29 serves 12 public school districts and 1 charter school and works collaboratively with the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

The essential duties of the position are:

• Serve as the chief executive officer of the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit and Schuylkill Technology Center.
• Administer and provide leadership to all Intermediate Unit programs, including business services, community & governmental relations, early childhood programs, human resources, professional learning, special education, alternative education, and technology.
• Responsible for all Intermediate Unit fiscal and personnel operations.
• Oversees the Schuylkill County Health & Welfare Trust.
• Establish a positive working relationship with local district superintendents and serve as the Chairperson of the Superintendents' Advisory Council meetings.
• Provide direct assistance to school districts, non-public schools, charter schools, the career & technology center, and early childhood agencies.
• Leading a long-term strategic planning process that includes a facility feasibility study.
• With an entrepreneurial mindset, identify areas of program development and implement solutions.
• Establish a positive relationship and work closely with federal, state, and local governmental officials.
• Serve as an active participant in the various professional organizations associated with the position.

Minimum requirements of the position are:

• 10 years public education administrative experience;
• Experience as superintendent preferred;
• Doctorate preferred

Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate with experience up to $170,000.
