Culinary Arts Instructor
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY POSITION: Culinary Arts Instructor [Full-time contract 2024-2025 SY] We seek a highly organized, self-motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills who has experience working with high school students. JOB SUMMARY: Teach program that prepares students in all aspects of the food industry. Includes instruction in selecting, storing, preparing and serving food and food products; basic nutrition; sanitation and food safety; the use and care of commercial equipment; serving techniques; and the operation of institutional food establishments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Prepare lessons that support student learning and skill development • Keep attendance records • Classroom management • Discuss student progress and problems with parents via phone or email • Participate in faculty and professional meetings • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid PDE teaching certificate in Quantity Foods [2059] or Minimum of four (4) years documented paid work experience in the food industry and be willing to complete the necessary coursework to earn CTE certification in Institutional Food Workers [CIP 12.0508] • Necessary credentials to instruct for industry related certifications • Knowledge of Google Suite – Classroom, Forms, Docs, Sheets; Student grading system • Communicate effectively – orally and written • Excellent organizational skills • Ability to work in partnership with staff A regionally competitive salary, full benefits and retirement package offered to the successful candidate.
