ANTICIPATED EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

POSITION: 

Emergency Services Instructor [Full-time contract beginning 2024-2025 SY]

We seek a highly organized, self-motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills who has experience in law enforcement, EMT and other safety services.

JOB SUMMARY: 

Teach program that prepares students to apply knowledge and skills to perform entry-level duties in law enforcement, firefighting, EMT and other safety services. This program stresses the techniques, methods and procedures peculiar to the areas of criminal justice and fire protection especially in emergency and disaster situations. Be able to train students in social and psychological skills, map reading, vehicle and equipment operations, the judicial system, pre-hospital emergency medical care and appropriate emergency assessment, treatment and communication. Candidate with Law Enforcement experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare lessons that support student learning and skill development
  • Modify curriculum to remain current and effective with industry trends
  • Build professional relationships with local business and industry partners
  • Classroom management
  • Discuss student progress and problems with parents via phone or email
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid PDE teaching certificate in Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting and Related Protective Services [2122] or four [4] years of documented experience within Law Enforcement and candidate will successfully complete an Occupational Competency Assessment [OCA] and meet PDE certification requirements [CIP Code 43.9999].
  • Necessary credentials to instruct for industry related certifications
  • Knowledge of Google Suite – Classroom, Forms, Docs, Sheets; Student grading system
  • Ability to work in partnership with staff
  • Completion of Temple University Vocational Certifications I and II
