Carpentry Instructor @Bucks County Technical High School

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

POSITION:

Carpentry Instructor [Full-time contract beginning 2024-2025 SY]

We seek a highly organized, self-motivated individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills who has experience in carpentry.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Teach program that prepares students to apply knowledge and skills to lay out, cut, fabricate, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures using hand and power tools. Instruction includes technical mathematics, framing, construction materials and selection, job estimating, blueprint reading, foundations and roughing-in, finish carpentry techniques and applicable codes and standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare lessons that support student learning and skill development
  • Modify curriculum to remain current and effective with industry trends
  • Build professional relationships with local business and industry partners
  • Classroom management
  • Discuss student progress and problems with parents via phone or email
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid PDE teaching certificate in Carpentry [2017] or four [4] years of documented fulltime Carpentry experience and candidate will successfully complete an Occupational Competency Assessment [OCA] and meet PDE certification requirements [CIP Code 46.0201].

Necessary credentials to instruct for industry related certifications

Knowledge of Google Suite – Classroom, Forms, Docs, Sheets; Student grading system

Ability to work in partnership with staff

Completion of Temple University Vocational Certifications I and II
